Frequently asked questions
It's the app's threat-level dial for a profile, from 5 (All Clear) down to 1 (Maximum Threat), plus a ON DUTY state for logged bleeding days. It's derived from the predicted cycle phase and always shown with its number and label, never colour alone.
From the dates you log, using an average of recent cycles with automatic outlier rejection so one missed log doesn't poison future predictions. Confidence is shown honestly as high, low, or estimate — it never presents a guess as certain.
HeadsUpDaddy requires you to acknowledge, before a profile becomes active, that she knows about the app or that you intend to tell her. It also includes a read-only Show Her screen with a working delete button. See Yes, She Knows for details.
No. HeadsUpDaddy is not medical advice, not a contraceptive, and not a fertility treatment. It should never be used for family planning of any kind, including avoiding or achieving pregnancy.
Yes to tracking, no to jokes. Daughter profiles are locked to the neutral Plain tone tier and have no fertility-tracking features at all — not turned off, structurally absent.
The app widens its prediction window and delays nagging you about a missed period when confidence is low. With very little history it labels predictions as an estimate rather than guessing with false precision.
Everything is deleted, irrecoverably. There's no server and no account, so there's nothing for us to restore. A device backup taken before you deleted it is the only copy that would still have it.
It already is. Everything the app stores lives in your iPhone's app container, which is included in your iCloud or Finder backup and restored with the rest of your phone. There is no separate export, no passphrase to remember, and nothing for us to hold — we never see your data at any point.
The app is free to download, and the free version tracks one person in the Plain tone. A single $2.99 purchase unlocks the Tactical and Unfiltered tones and lets you add as many people as you need. One payment, no subscription, no ads — the pricing page compares the two side by side.
Plain, the free tone, is straight information. Tactical is military-comedy framing with no profanity. The third tone, Unfiltered, is opt-in, partner-profiles-only and allows profanity — that is what sets the rating. The rule holds at every tier: the joke is aimed at you, never at her.
